My Approach

Developing a trustworthy, respectful, empathetic, and genuine relationship with you is the foundation for our work together. This creates the conditions which make healing and growth possible. I believe that:
  • Psychotherapy should be about listening to and honoring yourself, not fixing yourself.
  • No matter what symptoms you may be experiencing, you remain fundamentally sane, and are always the most trustworthy expert on your own experience.
  • Learning to love and value yourself creates the conditions which make genuine healing and growth possible.
I have been trained in many psychotherapeutic methods (including Gestalt, Rogerian Therapy, DBT, Somatic Therapy for trauma, NVC, and Jungian Psychotherapy). I draw on all of these approaches depending on what is appropriate in the moment. Besides my formal education and substantial clinical experience, I draw on thirteen years of regular meditation practice in my work. This practice has deepened my ability to be present with you in a warm, caring, nonjudgmental way.

Here are a few things clients have said about our work together:

"I've come a long way from where I was when I began meeting with you. I'm a lot more comfortable with who I am now...less willing to put up with bad treatment from anyone..."

"You truly were a blessing during my time of need."

"Thank you so much for all your guidance...You have helped me listen to the most important voice of all, my Self."

Process Group for Graduate Students

This group is open to graduate students in psychology who are looking for a gentle introduction to participating in group therapy. The structure of the group will evolve over time, beginning with more structure and eventually  including  more space for process and play. The facilitators will seek to cultivate a safe, supportive environment in which the participants can develop awareness of their patterns in relationship and grow together through genuine communication and play.
