Hi. Are you thinking about trying therapy? If so, let me tell you about my practice. I work with clients who are experiencing: depression, anxiety, addictions, grief, major life transitions, and the effects of trauma (including sexual and relational trauma). I
also work with clients looking to create more fulfilling relationships,
and with clients seeking support with personal, professional or spiritual growth.
I specialize
in helping clients develop a gentler attitude towards themselves. In my
experience once clients begin to make friends with themselves, it
becomes much easier for them to start creating the life they really
want. I am able to tailor the way I work with each client
to fit their individual needs. Here's a few of the therapeutic methods I draw upon:
Client-centered therapy- Supports the client in bringing an attitude of
curiosity and gentleness to their experience, so they
can
understand what they want, what obstacles they are facing, and how to overcome them.
Containment and
Resolution Therapy for Trauma- Helps the client develop the ability to: 1) Calm themselves down in triggering situations 2) Say "No" and set boundaries in
relationships 3) Reintegrate past traumatic
experiences so their nervous system can return to normal.
Dialectical Behavior
therapy-
Helps the client develop the ability to: 1) Stop andnotice their experience before reacting 2) Communicate in relationships in more effective ways. 3) Understand and manage their emotional experience effectively 4) Tolerate distress without acting out in harmful ways. Together these skills enable clients to make
choices
which dramatically improve their lives.
Non-violent Communication: A way of communicating developed by Marshall Rosenberg which enables clients to communicate their needs and set boundaries in relationships in kind, respectful, effective ways.
Jungian Psychotherapy-
Helps
the client connect and communicate with their own undiscovered wisdom through dreamwork and active imagination.
Besides my formal education and extensive experience as a psychotherapist, I draw on twelve years of regular meditation practice in my work. This practice has deepened my ability to be present with you in an open, caring, nonjudgmental way. My experience working with clients has shown me that every person, no matter what symptoms she/he is struggling with, is fundamentally sane, and (with enough support)can create a happier life for themselves. I've seen it happen again and again.
The best way
to find a therapist who truly suits your needs is to interview several
therapists before choosing one. If you would like to schedule a free consultation with me, please contact me at the phone number or email address below.
My fee per
session is $95. I offer flexible fees to a limited number of clients based on financial need. The other pages on this site include my blog: Keys to Happiness, a list of readings related to
particular psychological issues, and a list of groups and classes I offer. I
hope you find something helpful here. Thanks and best wishes.
